One of the most cherished collabs in my career. Director Albert Jan van Rees and actress Tjitske Reidinga made this film into what it is: A real, touching, sweet but not to sweet story about love and friendship. just as it is, added with a tiny little romance. Apart from the dreamy sequences we tried to keep it real and intimate. Instead of beauty lights and glamour, we aimed to be in the tradition of the british romcom, but set in a little neighbourhood in Amsterdam-west. Not the Amsterdam everyone knows from the canals, but the Amsterdam where its real inhabitants live.
